The stairway makes you cross the SP62 route twice, until you reach the junction of “Sentiero del Viandante” path towards Rivalba and Varenna.

Once you have walked on the mule-track south way, in the “La Fabbrica” area you have to turn north way to reach Biosio: you walk through the village and take the path that will lead you to Regoledo and then Croce del Gallo, after that you may enter the wood to reach the most panoramic place.

You walk up through the chestnut groves and the steep path will make you reach Sasso Rosso Mountain.

You can go on the path until Pra’ del Miascia, where you will find a monumental wild lime tree. You can enjoy the beautiful view of centre Lake Como (on the right) and Muggio mountain (on the left), then you can walk up to the Albiga to find the properly dolomitic rocks.

Walking south way then, you reach the SP65 route: after crossing it you will find yourself in a beech wood. The mountain peak is surrounded by many tiny limestone rocks. Rotating around the small cross you can admire the surrounding peaks and the lake centre.

You can take the path backwards to go back to the Albiga, where you will find the road to the former shelter on your left. If you continue walking downhill, you will meet the Bologna’s heliport.

You may turn north way and follow the path towards Gisazio, until to arrive in Regoledo. The route through the chestnut woods will lead you to the previously mentioned junction over Biosio.

Finally, you can walk down to Bellano.
